Install

Install KinetiRx

Pick your system. Every route runs the same KinetiRx stack — PostgreSQL, the Go backend and the web app — and keeps your data on your own machine.

$
curl -fsSL https://kinetirx.nodedr.com/install-linux.sh | sudo bash

Package for Ubuntu 24.04 and Debian 12 or newer, amd64 and arm64, with systemd. It sets up Docker if needed, runs KinetiRx in Docker and starts it. Read the script first, or download the .deb below and run sudo apt install ./file.deb.

What the Ubuntu / Debian package does

  • Installs a systemd service that runs the version-pinned KinetiRx containers with Docker Compose. The package is labelled “runs in Docker” because it is not a native binary.
  • Installs Docker first if it is missing. The installer checks the download’s SHA-256 before installing.
  • Generates your database password and signing secret on first install into /etc/kinetirx/kinetirx.env (mode 0600). They survive upgrades, removal and purge.
  • Opens on http://localhost:3080.

Update, remove

# update: run the installer again, or
sudo apt install ./kinetirx_<version>_amd64.deb

# remove the service (your settings and database volume are kept)
sudo apt remove kinetirx

Back up your data before upgrading. The database lives in the Docker volume kinetirx_postgres_data.

Docker Compose (any OS)

Clone the repository

Get the source onto the machine that will run it — a spare PC, a home server, or a VPS.

git clone https://github.com/Raktim94/KinetiRx.git
cd KinetiRx

Configure secrets

Copy the example env file and set a Postgres password, a JWT signing secret, and the first admin password. A Gemini API key is optional — add it later to enable AI invoice OCR.

cp deploy/.env.example deploy/.env
# edit deploy/.env: POSTGRES_PASSWORD, JWT_SECRET, KINETIRX_ADMIN_PASSWORD

Start the stack

One command brings up PostgreSQL, the Go backend, and the nginx-served frontend together. Migrations run automatically on first boot.

docker compose -f deploy/docker-compose.yml --env-file deploy/.env up -d --build

CasaOS / ZimaOS

A CasaOS App Store manifest is included in the repository but is not yet published to the official store. Docker Compose works on any CasaOS machine today.
